3 - Marketing and Strategy
EVEA is contributing to the French Product Environmental Labelling program, that aims to define measurement criteria and environmental information to be provided to consumers.
According to the French law, in line with coming European policy :
"Consumers must have access to sincere, objective and comprehensive environmental information on the overall characteristics of the product / packaging couple, and to environment-friendly products at attractive prices. France will support the recognition of these requirements at European Union level.
The mention of the environmental impacts of products and services complementing the display of prices will be gradually developed, including at European level, as well as the display/availability in shops of the products' traceability and social conditions of production. The methodology associated with the assessment of these impacts will be discussed in consultation with the relevant stakeholders." Jean-Baptiste Puyou, EVEA C.E.O and Founder
With more than 15 years of professional experience, Jean-Baptiste Puyou is among the pioneers of life cycle assessment and ecodesign in France. After his graduation from the Technical University of Compiègne (UTC) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design, Jean-Baptiste joined the French Ministry of Ecology to work on the European Ecolabel and the French Label for Environment (NF Environement). He then developed his expertise working as a consultant and was among the first professionals specialized in life cycle assessment to introduce the benefits of this innovative scientific approach into the conception and design teams of client companies.
Co-founder of the APEDEC (the French Eco-design Association), he has been involved since 1995 in projects aiming at developing pragmatic solutions to support decision-making processes regarding operational issues such as the choice of materials or the optimization of industrial processes. Jean-Baptiste then founded EVEA in 2005 in Nantes.
Over the years, several new methodologies and innovative softwares have been developed by EVEA and successfully applied in a variety of industries. Jean-Baptiste Puyou and EVEA are actively involved in the French Environmental Information Program “Grenelle”.
